後記
今回の旅を振り返ってみると、有意義で楽しい思い出が尽きないですが、日本出発直前には充分に準備できている状態とはいえず、はたして梅里雪山の麓にたどりつけるかどうかですら心配でした。この旅を順調に終え、こうして報告書を作成してみると、この旅が多くの人達がぼくらに差しのべてくれた、様々な形での援助によるものであったことも思い出されます。
1993年のアムネマチン五峰遠征の時から大変お世話になっている国際交流協会代表、老吉田（らおちーでん）こと吉田與和氏には、貴重な梅里雪山の写真や資料をお借りし色々丁寧なアドバイスを戴きました。同じくアムネマチン遠征で隊に同行していただいた国際交流協会の安井邦彦さんにも、会合としての場所を提供していただき、中国の最新事情を戴きました。
また横断山脈研究会の中村保氏にも多大なるアドバイスをいただきました。日本出発一週間前になっても段取りが全然つかめず、直前になって中村さんの自宅に押し入りお話を伺いました。積雪の状況をわざわざ現地まで問い合わせていただきました。京都大学学士山岳会の小林尚之さんは我々が出発するとき、ちょうど四回目の明永村での滞在から帰国し、新宿で写真展を開いていたところで、現地の最新の情報を聞くことができました。徳欽県の旅遊局でもトレッキング中の村々でも、中村さんと小林さんの名を知らぬものはなく、彼らの友達だ、というだけでずいぶん便宜を図ってもらうことができました。
日本出発直前にはトレッキングパーミットの問題やら、いろいろな不安がありましたが、みなさんに前もって情報を頂いたことにより、２週間という限られた日程にもかかわらず有意義な旅行となりました。もちろん現地の人たちの協力も忘れられません。徳欽のガイド陳さん、その子分の黄さん、旅遊局の諸氏、馬追いの村人達、山奥までガイドしてくれた人たち等々、出会った全ての人たちに感謝です。
鳥大山岳部OB会からは多大なる旅費の補助を出してもらいました。ＯＢの船越氏からも餞別をいただきました。ありがとうございます。
どちらかというと我々の趣向は民俗や地域との交流、歴史的なことに傾いていて、今回の報告は山の調査として十分ではなかったのではないかと思います。また本文中安東の未熟な中国語のために、内容に多少の誤解や違いが生じているかもしれません。間違いは訂正していただけるとありがたく思います。
眩しく輝く氷の峰峯をバックに咲く華麗な一輪の青いケシの花。いつかその地に共に訪れる仲間達がそろうことを期待しつつ、この報告書を締めたいと思います。

Summery of this report in English
Tottori University Alpine Club send two members to the area of Mt. Meili Xueshan, in Deqin Prefecture Yunnan Province, P.R.China. Mt. Meili Xueshan Kagebo peak (6740m) is the highest mountain in Yunnan province and located on the border with Tibet Autonomous Region. It is the holiest mountain for the local Tibetan people and still un-climbed mountain. The purpose of this travel was investigation for the possibility to climb this mountain. Travel was done two weeks from end of February till early March, 2001.
We
trekked around the mountain, the climbing base camp at Yupon
village, Mingyon glacier, beyond She-la pass (4800m altitude) to
the Tibet region and observed distant view of the PK6509, second
highest peak on this area. Also investigate the climbing
possibility of Mt. Baimang Xueshan (5429m, unclimbed), third
highest mountain chain in Yunnan and located east of Mt. Meili.
We stayed at local people home during trekking and experienced
their life. It was quite interesting travel which have ever done
for us.
We
also visited the Deqin Tibetan Autonomous prefecture local
government tourism office for climbing permission of Mt. Meili
Xueshan. However, this area was registered for Special National
Park by Chinese government. Therefore it is quite difficult to
get permission at this moment. Also the local Tibetan people have
bad emotion to be climbed by foreigner on their holiest mountain
peak. From these reason, we decided it is not the time to climb
Kagebo peak at this moment. However there are still have a
possibility to climb other mountains in Yunnan, such as Mt.
Baimang Xueshan so on.
